The House

Our savoir-faire

'Zadig&Voltaire is a manufactory that produces design.'

The whole secret of the House lies in this sentence: a sensory approach to creation that begins with uncompromising standards for materials. Cashmere and its exclusive loose knit, Japanese satin and its carefully worked 'flou', leather crinkled using a technique that belongs to the House alone.

Then comes the detail, slightly devilish: it hides in the lining of every jacket, in delicate embroidery that lifts a knit, in a bag that goes from day to night. At Zadig&Voltaire, style is an integral part of the leather goods savoir-faire.

The studio

The right drape, at the fitting

At the House's design studio, pattern makers draw pieces designed to fall just right. Fittings take place on site: the studio corrects the slightest detail with an expert eye.

A piece's strength lies in three things: the pleasure of touch, the well-being of the person wearing it, and a style like no other.

With each collection, the studio blends fresh ideas with Zadig&Voltaire style and carries on its original vision. By constantly rewriting its own history, the House keeps a continuity that people recognise themselves in: its pieces have become timeless, and the 'ZV Tribe' takes them up to create its own style.

Four materials, four techniques

A Zadig&Voltaire piece is judged by hand first. Here are the materials and workshop techniques that define the House's signature.

Feather cashmere

'Feather cashmere' is a yarn specially designed by the House, made of long cashmere fibres chosen for their quality and fineness. Spun 'semi-combed', it takes on an irregular look that brings out the softness of the material and gives the piece its casual feel.

Zadig&Voltaire cashmeres are also recognisable by their 'loose knit', an open stitch that makes them airy, almost a second skin.

Crinkled leather

'Crinkled leather' is an exclusive Zadig&Voltaire savoir-faire. It takes several days of work to cut and then assemble the leather for a shirt, a jacket or a pair of trousers.

It says everything about the House's taste for opposites: the softness of the skin and the crinkled effect, for a deceptively careless look.

Japanese satin

Japanese satin is woven from delicate, extremely fine threads. Born of a unique and complex manufacturing process, it has rare fluidity and lightness.

Shiny to the eye, it has a silk-like feel in the hand: it is the material of the House's dresses and camisoles. It can be machine washed on a delicate programme at 20° maximum, or by hand, is left to dry in the open air and is smoothed out with steam.
