The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you what information Arteast, LLC dba Zadig&Voltaire (“Zadig&Voltaire,” “we,” “our,” “us”) collects from you, how we use your information and the choices that you have regarding our use of your information. This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect from and about you in our shops located in the U.S., through our U.S. website, currently located at https://zadig-et-voltaire.com/us/en/ (the “site”), and anywhere else we interact with you subject to this policy. By accessing and using our site or sharing your information with us, you are acknowledging, accepting and consenting to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
What Personal Information We Collect
When we use the term “personal information,” we are referring to information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can be associated with you as an individual. We collect the following categories and types of personal information from and about you:
- Basic Identifiers: Including first and last name, email address, mailing address, ZIP code, phone number, month and day of birth, or other similar identifiers.

- Geolocation Data: Including general location based on IP address, and information that permits us to determine your location, such as if you manually provide location information or enable your mobile device to send us precise location information.
- Payment Information: Including credit card, debit card or other payment information.
- Demographic Information: Including information about your gender and other demographic information.
- Audio and Visual Information: Including images or recordings of you or your voice in connection with events, in-store security cameras (where applicable), during customer service calls/communications
- Commercial Information: Including information about products or services you purchased, or considered buying, from us, your returns, exchanges and information about your preferences.
- Inferences: Inferences drawn from or created based on any of the information identified above.
- Note on Sensitive Personal Information: We only collect sensitive personal information, as defined by applicable privacy laws, for the purposes allowed by law or with your consent. We do not collect or process sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.
How We Collect Personal Information
We collect personal information about you from various sources. For example, we collect and obtain information directly from you, from our business partners and other third-party sources, through in-store technologies, and from social media platforms and networks.
We collect personal information from you, including when you register for an account on the site, place an order online or make a purchase in one of our shops, interact with our site (including through our tracking technologies), enter a contest or sweepstakes, sign up for our e-mail, SMS or other marketing communications, respond to a survey or communication such as e-mail, visit on of our shops, or participate in another site feature or service, such as contacting us or customer service via the telephone.
We also collect information about gift recipients and other third parties if you provide it to us, so that we can fulfill the gift purchase or other request. The information we collect about gift recipients is not used for marketing purposes, unless the recipient is otherwise opted in.
We also collect information about you, including various forms of personal information such as identifiers and demographic information, from third party sources, such as someone else, data aggregators, data append providers, and analytics providers, marketing and co-promotion partners, fraud prevention partners, address update services and publicly available sources.
Additionally, if you interact with us on social media or use features, such as plugins, widgets, or other tools made available by social media platforms or networks (including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Google, YouTube, and Pinterest) in connection with our site, we collect information that you disclose to us, or that the social media platforms disclose to us under their policies. We typically record customer service calls and maintain a transcript for quality assurance and training purposes. We also use CCTV technologies in our stores for safety, security, fraud, loss prevention, and operational purposes.
We may combine information we collect from and about you online with information we collect from and about you in our shops, and with information gathered from other third-party sources. We also create information based on and derived from our analysis of the information we have collected from and about you.
Like many websites, we use "cookies" and other tracking technologies to enhance your experience and gather information about visitors and visits to our site. Please refer to the "Cookies and Similar Online Tracking Technologies" section below for information.
How We Use Your Personal Information
We may use your personal information in the following ways:

- For marketing and promotional purposes, such as to send marketing, advertising, and promotional communications by email, text/SMS message, or postal mail (such as trend alerts, promotions, new product launches, and event invitations); to show you advertisements for products and/or services tailored to your interests on social media and other websites; and to administer our sweepstakes, contests, and other similar promotions. - To comply with our legal obligations, to prevent fraud and other abuses, and to protect the site and our shops, your rights, our rights, and others’ rights. For this, we may use the following categories of information: Identifiers, Other Pseudonymous Unique Identifiers, Device Information, Commercial Information, Geolocation Information, Website Activity Information, Audio, Visual or Electronic Information, Financial Information, Inferences.
Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
We and our third–party partners and service providers (such as advertising networks, analytics providers and social media platforms) use pixels, web beacons, software developer kits, third-party libraries, cookies, and other similar tracking technologies (collectively, “tracking technologies”) to gather information when you interact with our site or communications. Some tracking technologies help us maintain the security of our site and your account, prevent crashes, fix bugs, save your preferences, remember items in your shopping cart, make and manage your in-store appointments, assist with basic site functions and provide you with improved services.
We also permit third parties and service providers to use tracking technologies on our site for analytics and advertising, including to help us manage and display advertisements, to tailor advertisements to your interests, or to send abandoned shopping cart reminders (depending on your communication preferences). The third parties and service providers use their technology to provide advertising about products and services tailored to your interests which may appear on our site, on other websites, or in our marketing and other communications.
You can choose to turn off cookies. You can currently do this through your browser settings. Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. If you turn cookies off, you won't have access to many features that make your site experience more efficient and some of our services will not function properly. However, you can still make a purchase in one of our shops.
Additionally, to the extent these online tracking technologies are deemed to be a “sale” / “sharing” under applicable U.S. state laws (which includes targeted advertising, as defined under the applicable laws), you can opt-out of these online tracking technologies by submitting your request via Your Privacy Choices, which is available at the bottom of our site. Please note, some features of our websites may not be available to you as a result. For Google Analytics, at your end, you may exercise an opt out going to tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout or downloading the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You may adjust your Google advertising settings by visiting adssettings.google.com.
How We Disclose the Information We Collect In addition to the specific situations discussed elsewhere in this privacy policy, such as the “Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies” section above, we disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
As part of its international activities, Zadig&Voltaire shares your personal information (all categories as listed in the “What Information We Collect” section above) with and amongst its subsidiaries and affiliated companies in the context of the purposes described above. This includes, for example, Zadig’s parent entity in France, ZV France, which may participate in or control the operations of various aspects of the site and the company’s business.
Zadig&Voltaire will also share your personal information with service providers, suppliers, or consultants for many of the aforementioned purposes, particularly including those involved in the monitoring and management of your orders (e.g., shipping, after-sales service), Zadig&Voltaire's marketing partners assisting with direct marketing campaigns including the sending of promotional messages, and banking partners when you use payment services on the Site, etc.
Other service providers of ours include those that help to support our business functions and internal operations, such as fulfilling orders, delivering packages, analyzing customer data, providing other marketing assistance, administering various services or features on our site, authenticating users on our site, investigating fraudulent or other suspicious activities on our site or in our shops, and providing customer service. These service providers will have limited access to your information in the context of performing tasks specific to them on behalf of Zadig&Voltaire and are obligated to protect and use your information for the purposes for which they have been disclosed in accordance with this Policy. The categories of data shared with our service providers includes Basic Identifiers, Device Information and Other Unique Identifiers, Internet and Other Network Activity, Demographic data, Geolocation Data, Payment Information, Commercial Information, Audio and Visual Information, Inferences.
Some of our websites have features such as plugins, widgets, and other tools made available by social media platforms and networks that may result in information being collected or disclosed between us and such parties. Their use of your information is not governed by this privacy policy. With these third parties, the categories of personal information shared depends on what you choose to share when interacting with these features.
We may also share your personal information (all categories as listed in the “What Information We Collect” section above) when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law or legal process, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others' rights, property, or safety.
We also would share your personal information (all categories as listed in the “What Information We Collect” section above) if we were involved in a merger, acquisition, consolidation, change of control, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, or if we undergo bankruptcy or other liquidation.
While we do not share personal information in exchange for money, we sometimes disclose information in exchange for valuable consideration, including to industry data consortia, data analytics providers, social media platforms, advertising partners and marketing partners. Non-personally identifiable visitor and customer information may be provided to third parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
Your Rights and Choices Depending on your state of residence, you have the right to the following:
- Email Opt Out: To modify your e-mail subscriptions, please let us know by modifying your preferences in the "My Account" section. You are also able to unsubscribe from our marketing emails by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link contained therein. Please note that due to email production schedules you may receive any emails already in production. You also may continue to receive account or transactional emails.
- SMS Opt Out: You can opt-out of receiving text/SMS messages from us by replying “STOP” to the message you receive from us. Please note that this will only opt you out of the specific text messaging program associated with that number or code. For more information, please refer to the Zadig&Voltaire SMS Service Terms.
- DNT and GPC: We honor Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. DNT and GPC are privacy preferences you can set in your web browser (though not all browsers or browser extensions support it) to indicate that you do not want certain information about your webpage visits collected across websites when you have not interacted with that service on the page. If you choose to use the GPC signal, you will need to turn it on for each supported browser or browser extension you use.
- Analytics Opt Out: For Google Analytics, one current way to opt out is to visit tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout or download the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You also may adjust your Google advertising settings by visiting adssettings.google.com. Additional opt outs may be exercised via Your Privacy Choices.
- Right to Correct or Delete Your Information: To correct or delete your online account information from our database, sign into the "My Account" section of our site and either edit your information or remove your shipping addresses, billing addresses & payment information. You may also separately request that we correct or delete the personal information we collect or maintain about you generally. You may make such request at dataprivacy@zadigetvoltaire.com or 877-317-5277. Our deletion may consist of de-identifying your information, as permitted by and in accordance with applicable law. Please also note that we may retain information about an individual sales transaction in order to service that transaction and for record keeping as permitted under applicable laws.
- Right to Know/Access Your Information: To access the personal information we collect and maintain about you please make such request at dataprivacy@zadigetvoltaire.com or 877-317-5277.
- Do Not Sell Your Personal Information: To the extent we “sell” your personal information (as defined under applicable laws and described in the “How do we disclose or share the information we collect?” section above), you may ask us to stop such selling by sending the request to dataprivacy@zadigetvoltaire.com or 877-317-5277. To opt out of a “sale” through online tracking technologies, you can submit your request via Your Privacy Choices, which you can access in the footer of the website.
- Opt Out of Targeted Advertising/Do Not Share: You can currently opt out of targeted advertising through online tracking technologies by submitting a request via Your Privacy Choices, which you can access in the footer of the website.
Once you have submitted your request, we will respond within the time frame permitted by the applicable law.
For us to process some requests, we will need to verify your identity to confirm that the request came from you. We may contact you by phone or e-mail to verify your request. Depending on your request, we may need to ask for information such as your name, an e-mail address or a phone number that you have used with us. For certain requests, we may also ask you to provide details about the most recent purchase you made online or in store.
Depending on your state of residence in the U.S., you may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf to access or delete your personal information. To do so, you must: (1) provide that authorized agent written and signed permission to submit such request; and (2) verify your own identity directly with us. Please note, we may deny a request from an authorized agent that does not submit proof that they have been authorized by you to act on your behalf.
If you have been designated as an authorized agent to submit a request on behalf of another customer, you must clearly communicate that when making your submission.
Depending on your state of residence in the U.S., you may be able to appeal our decision to your request regarding your personal information. To do so, please contact us in any of the ways listed in this Privacy Policy. We respond to all appeal requests as soon as we reasonably can, and no later than legally required.
We do not retaliate against customers who exercise any of their rights described in our privacy policy.
How We Transfer and Use your Information Internationally
Zadig&Voltaire is located in and operates its site and the various services through the site primarily from the United States and France. To facilitate its global activities, Zadig&Voltaire may transfer, retain, and process your information to and through its service providers or its subsidiaries based in the United States and the EEA. If you choose to provide us with your information, you consent to the transfer, storage and processing of that information on servers located in these countries, where the laws may differ from the legislation applicable in your country of residence.
How Long Your Information is Retained?
The Data are retained for a period not to exceed the period necessary to the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Please note that in many situations we must retain all, or a portion, of your personal information to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, protect against fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activity, or for another one of our business purposes.
How We Protect Your Information
Zadig&Voltaire strives to implement a variety of useful precautions to protect the security of your personal information and to protect it from being distorted, damaged, or accessed by unauthorized third parties.
However, Zadig&Voltaire cannot control all risks related to the operation of the Internet and would like to draw your attention to the existence of potential risks inherent to its use and its operation. Zadig&Voltaire encourages you not to transmit information regarding your customer account (such as your password) to unauthorized third parties in any capacity whatsoever. You should inform Zadig&Voltaire as soon as possible of the slightest suspicion of hacking, or unauthorized use of your customer account.
Notice of Financial Incentives
From time to time, we may offer a discount or an opportunity to gain something of value in exchange for the collection of your personal information. For example, we may offer a discount promotional code if you provide us with your email address or cell phone number for marketing communications; or an opportunity to win a prize as part of a sweepstakes, or contest if you provide your email address or submit other information. The details of each such program are contained in the applicable program offering. These offerings might be interpreted as a “financial incentives” under applicable laws (such as California), which are reasonably related to the value of the information you provide. The precise value of the data will vary depending on certain factors, including the internal resources required to collect and maintain information.

Our site may include links leading to third-party websites, including to various social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest. These linked sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites.
Children’s Privacy
Zadig&Voltaire encourages all parents or guardians to promote cautious, responsible behaviour by minors when communicating their personal information on the Internet generally and in particular on this site. We do not knowingly collect or accept personal information from any child under the age of 16 without explicit parental consent. If we are made aware that we have unknowingly received personal information from a child under 16 without parental consent, we will remove all of that child’s personal information from our records
Additionally, our site is not intended for or directed to the residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, or New Jersey who are under the age of 18 years. For these states, if we become aware that anyone under the age of 18 has provided us with personal information, we will delete the information from our records.
